The Vijayanagar Railway Passengers Association met the General Manager of South Western Railway (SWR) in Hubli to present a memorandum detailing long-pending railway demands for Koppal, Vijayanagar, and Bellari districts. Led by the association’s president and senior Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) member.
The delegation urged SWR to enhance railway connectivity, improve passenger facilities, and introduce new services to boost regional development. They emphasized the need for better infrastructure to support the growing number of commuters and tourists visiting the region.
Along with their list of demands, the association extended congratulations to the new General Manager on his appointment and invited him to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hampi and Anjanadri Hills. They highlighted the region’s cultural and historical significance, stressing that improved railway services would significantly benefit tourism and local businesses. The association expressed confidence that SWR would take the necessary steps to address their concerns and enhance railway operations in the region.
